We are the proud owners of this magical salon. A community has formed here and everyone who dwells within these walls are what lights us up. We are all very different but so much alike and these stylists are our family. We believe we are called to uplift hairstylists in a way that they can grow their business and feel a great joy when doing so. We realize that we spend more time with each other than with anyone else and it’s important to us that over time, they feel like they are a part of something really cool. We feel humbled to be a part of a neighborhood where supporting small business is at the center of why they live and shop in North Park.. This is how community is built. Mike and I fell in love in beauty school, we had 5 daughters and those little butterflies are what keep us moving. MISTY NELSON
Misty has now been doing hair for 21 years! Growing up, she always dreamed of doing hair for the Grammys in LA, but thought maybe she should be a doctor or something else instead. Ultimately, she followed her heart — her exact words were, “Screw it, I like hair!” — and if you know her, it just makes sense. Her passion includes both cut and color. She has wisely observed that a person can have a good cut and bad color or good color but a bad cut, and her goal is to make sure that both are equally amazing. She specializes in all types of cuts, from long hair to short hair, and enjoys working with all colors from blonde to dark. She is always eager to talk with her clients first and find out what is best for them before jumping in. She is one of those stylists that after sitting in her chair for 10 minutes, you feel like you’ve known her for 10 years. She makes everyone feel comfortable, confident and heard and that is what ultimately makes her so good at what she does.
In her spare time, you can find Misty outdoors! Her favorite things include camping, traveling, spending time with her husband and daughter — and definitely shopping. Misty is one of our most upbeat and friendly stylists and we are so lucky to have her at Salvage.

MEGAN CLOVER
Megan is a vibe. She’s beachy, cool and “Oh So Sweet.” Her home base is here in sunny San Diego but she loves to travel for hair as well. You can find her surfing, skating, snowboarding, hiking or thrifting on her days off. On her working days, you will find her in the front window of the salon, slaying Curly Cuts, and beautiful hair colors but she does have a soft spot for color that gas a good deal of dimension, grown in seamlessly. She loves to teach her clients how to embrace their own natural texture and teaches you how to easily style your hair at home.
Megan has a long list of experience from teaching as the lead educator in her NYC salon, training up assistants. She also was trained and worked with celebrity colorist Rachel Bolt and Rodney Cutler. She works on NYFW, beauty campaign photoshoots and has worked on TV sets with Disney. She’s worked with Ashley Lynn Hall in LA and NYC with Atelier Management. Traveling, creating and soaking up the sun is her thing.

LISA PARKE
If I could bottle her up and keep her forever I would. We are forever grateful that a soul as sweet as hers has chosen Salvage as her salon home. I look forward to working with Lisa everyday. She keeps real talk real and getting to know her has been a blessing and I can only imagine how much her clients must love her.
Lisa has been in the industry for 18 years and is a perfectionist and an expert in her craft. She does all things hair but specializes in color. In my opinion, luckily for her clients, she’s somewhat of a color perfectionist. Her work is absolute quality. Period. I hope you get to love her as much as I do.

JESSICA ANDERSON (owner)
My work always reflects what is currently inspiring me. I take an intuitive approach to cutting and coloring. I have been in the industry for 20 years and was trained in the French Dessange Haircutting technique. I love romantic and hand carved hair with a straight razor, creating flow. I specialize in framing faces, carving out movement based on the texture and weight of the hair. I consider myself a color specialist as well and take the same customizable approach, striving for a seamless and dimensional grow out. I can cut a pixie with my eyes closed and extra long hair has my heart forever.
Finding a stylist that you are drawn to is so important and I hope that you keep reading though all of our stylists’ bios and know that we take great pride in hiring very talented stylists with really big hearts and I am proud to have each and every one of them representing our salon. CHELSEA WILSON
Chelsea fell in love with being a hairstylist when she saw the happiness and confidence it brought to others. She has followed her passion for 14 years now and her specialties include medium to long cuts, balayage, highlights, and dark colors. Chelsea also loves the instant gratifications with adding length or fullness with hair extensions as well as reducing frizz while making styling easier with Brazilian blowouts.
When not doing hair, you can find Chelsea being a hands on mom with her daughter, traveling or investing time in her 2nd career in the real estate industry.

VALERIE PRESTA
Valerie has a wide range of skillset and interest when it comes to hair. Her specialties are clean bobs, balayage and blondes! But she enjoys everything from super natural seamless color to big and bold changes.
Valerie has a calm and cool energy and almost always knows how to have a good laugh in any conversation. She is a realist with a solid heart of gold. She might be a grown adult who still hides tattoos from her parents but who doesn’t? On her days off you will find her hanging out at the beach, happy hour with friends, Palm Springs or at Balboa Park with her pup Jack. He’s a star just like her.

MELISSA BOEHM
We fell in love with her personality the moment we met her. Our 5 daughters have voted her the funniest stylist at Salvage Salon and they are not wrong. SOUVIA
Meet sweet Souvia. For her, the true joy of being a stylist comes from seeing her clients appreciate what she loves doing in a professional form. She was mainly inspired by her mom to join the hair business and now has about 10ish years of experience.
Souvia can work with any hair, whether long or short, and especially enjoys adding layers to a cut. She prefers doing natural balayages for her clients, and is always eager to learn and improve her technique to offer the best of the best service.
When Souvia isn’t caring for other people at Salvage, you can find her focusing on her own self care! Her favorite thing to do outside of work is staying in bed with a face mask or cooking up a good meal. She’s a true homebody, although she confesses a nice hike or perhaps someone else’s good food will get her out of her apartment and into the wild.

TINA ARDON
Cristina aka Tina has been doing hair for 14 years! She specializes in natural color that is soft, yet eye catching, with a great grow out — specifically natural looking redheads, blondes, and brunettes. She loves single process colors, lowlightling, highlighting, and is REALLY good at a color correction! She likes doing lived in cuts on all lengths of hair but specializes in wavy hair. She loves bombshell hair — voluminous, full, healthy, with lots of movement!
Tina has been interested in hair since she was very little. She was the resident hairstylist of her family and friends, doing their colors and blow drys. She says that hair was something she always knew she would do, from the first time she stepped into a salon at 5 years old. She loved the environment, and when she saw how happy the people were who worked there, she knew she wanted to surround herself with like minded individuals!
Tina is a natural extrovert who is very creative and loves style, so the salon is the perfect environment for her. She has many hobbies, including traveling, hand building ceramics, vintage shopping, and pilates. She is almost always working on a creative project of some sorts! Not to mention that she is obsessed with her dog Olive — so on her days off, you can find them hanging at the park or dog beach.

JHONATTAN MORAZA
Meet Jhonattan - we are so thrilled to have this creative artist working here! He is one of the most professional and soft spoken stylists I have worked with. He was born and raised in TJ, Mexico. Growing up his mother always wanted him to be a doctor or lawyer but he had way too much fun doing hair, so he followed his passion. I actually think he would have been a great doctor as well (not a lawyer though, he’s too sweet for that)! I would describe Jhonattan behind the chair as a perfectionist. His philosophy behind the chair is, “One client at a time and give them what they are paying for. Always a quality and honest service.” His work is absolutely effortless. He focuses on lived-in looks from brunettes to California blondes. He is a master at haircutting from curly cuts to bobs. We are proud to have artists at this level choosing to work here at Salvage and we are thrilled for our clients who choose them.

DAVID LANGIT
This guy. His clients absolutely love him and we do too. He is adored in the salon for his effortlessly eclectic street style and wins best dressed by a long shot.
David just celebrated 14 years as a true artist in the industry and we are so honored to host him and his clients in our space. His clients bring him food and drinks and basically treat him as their own child which says a lot about who he is as a friend.
David is very experienced and really does everything when it comes to hair color. He is known for transforming dark hair to blonde and color corrections. He loves beautiful hand painted sun-kissed highlights and is always there for his grey retouches. We hope you get to sit in his chair sometime.

SILA NUTTER
Sila has this well balanced life thing going on about her. People love her and you will see why. Her spirit is filled with happy vibes that she carries around and spreads with her laughter. She is flawlessly cool with amazing style. She is a happy wife and new mama to baby boy Emmett.
Sila has an eye for fashion and beauty that resonates with her clients. She loves to create beautiful hair and she is really good at it. Her work is soft and elegant. She hand paints and customizes her colors and has a good eye for creating tones that suit you perfectly. She is the queen of mastering up rose gold tones in the hair. I've had the privilege of sitting next to this girl for 6 years now and watching her grow as an artist has been a joy. I love her to the moon and so will you!

YELENA TARASEVICH
Yelena is a very grounded individual who consistently stays true to who she is.. Her simple style and calming personality really reflects her artistry behind the chair. She is a seasoned hairdresser with 17 years experience! She specializes in soft, natural sun- kissed hair color that she customizes to compliment your skin tone. She creates bright, healthy blondes, glossy brunettes and natural, rich reds. Her passion is taking you on a healthy hair journey and bringing your hair to its fullest potential.
Yelena was an educator for The Business of Balayage and for Wella. She is certified in razor cutting, balayage essentials and advanced balayage.

HAYLEE ESPINOZA
Look out San Diego, Haylee is here and ready to make you fall in love with your natural texture!
Recently relocated from Spokane, WA, Haylee has almost a decade of experience under her belt as a stylist. She is most well known for doing RAZOR cuts, SHAGS and CURLY cuts, as well as beachy balayages, ginger & copper colors.
Haylee knew she was meant to be a hair stylist when she and her step sister got their hands on some Wella color at Sally’s and spent all night using it to turn her sister’s hair bright red! She can recall how excited they both were about it and how much fun they had in the process. After that, she was forever the sister/friend everyone called to do their hair.
Besides hair cutting & coloring, some of Haylee’s other interests include seeing live music, traveling and trying new food. She also makes jewelry, collects art and loves thrifting!

GRACE MASONIUS
From New Jersey to LA to San Diego, Grace has found her salon home with us at Salvage. She has officially been a stylist for 10 years now, but has been interested in hair since a very young age. Growing up in a big family, her mom would often take her four sisters to the barber shop with her brothers to get all their hair done. She was never a fan of the way it turned out, so she started doing everyone’s hair herself! She always loved the feeling of making other people feel and look beautiful.
Grace enjoys working with all types of hair, but especially loves doing blondes, cutting bobs and braiding. When she is not in the salon, you can find her cooking, exploring the local Farmer’s Markets, hiking, riding her bike or at the beach with her boyfriend and friends!

Gillian discovered her passion for hair at an early age. Committed to her craft since the 90’s, Gillian’s approach to hair is technical and sculptural - a reflection of time spent practicing on both coasts (New York and Los Angeles) and training with industry leaders like Vidal Sassoon, Bumble&Bumble, and Allilon. Gillian’s professional experience extends beyond the salon to include editorial, runway and many years as a respected educator within her industry.
Specializing in razor cuts and low toxic color she creates rich, customized, effortless looks designed to celebrate each person’s unique style. She finds inspiration in how each decade has influenced the next: 60’s rock n roll, 70’s California beach culture, and 90’s grunge.

GLORIA
Our little Latino gypsy. An adventure queen. If you aren’t living your best life, then seek advice from this girl. She can lead you in the right direction :)
In between adventures, traveling and hanging with friends, she is slaying hair. She has a gift for creating blended dimensional blondes on naturally dark hair. She also enjoys fashion and bold colors and projects that bring lots of fun change. All of her clients have a ton of hair and walk out looking like J-LO.
Gloria is one of my favorite people I’ve ever worked with because she comes to work with an honest and sweet spirit about her. She wears her heart on her sleeve and she’s always willing to share that when needed.
She is very responsible and organized and genuinely loves doing hair and she’s like the tiniest person ever and wears the boldest outfits that are really fun to look at. I also respect her ability to create a very healthy balance in her life of fun and self care. She’s a true gem.
